After the Wrath, comes Madness! It’s time to fight for a chance to be Champion!!!
There is a huge weight lifted off our shoulders now that we have defeated the 9 time reigning Polish Champion, Asseco Prokom Gdynia in the quarterfinal round of this year’s playoffs. We were excited about the match-up, and we were able to capitalize on our opportunity to advance. This next round brings us up against the top ranked PGE Turów Zgorzelec. They controlled the regular season series, beating us 3 out of 4 games. This series will be the true test of our team’s abilities, but more importantly, our heart.
In my opinion, a lot of people are already counting us out, expecting us to lose the series, and only fight for the bronze medal. Personally, I think it’s great that we are the underdog. We can play pressure free, give everything we have, and put the pressure on PGE Turów Zgorzelec to win. Our team is more than capable of winning this series, and I look forward to the chance to surprise everyone that doubts us.
Our first two games will be on the road in Zgorzelec May 11 and May 13. We have not played exceptionally well there this season, however, even with our poor performances, we have been quite close in the end of the games. I have had two solid games in this gym, 12 points and 5 rebounds in the first meeting, and 16 points and 3 rebounds in the second. I’m looking to continue my good play in Zgorzelec, but this time, I intend on coming home with our first victory in this gym.
