To continue my efforts to dive into some community projects here in Skopje, I called upon the junior players of Rabotnički for help. We met on our home court and spent some time together shooting hoops and talking about the importance of giving back to your community. We dubbed it the Holiday Mingle with Marcus, but there was much more going on than just hanging with me!
I challenged everyone to join me in buying a small gift that would be donated to the SOS Children’s Village during the holiday season. These gifts were later given to the kids at SOS Children’s Village, all of whom have lost their parents, or have situations that forced them away from their families.
The junior players were extremely receptive and very excited to be a part of something like this, and I cannot say thanks enough for their support in the event. It’s my hope that they will continue to think of those who are less fortunate, and find ways to always be a positive influence on their community.
